Mid-Autumn Festival in China

More than 90% of all USB flash drives worldwide are produced and manufactured in China. Most of the worlds main USB flash drive manufacturers and USB flash memory suppliers are located in the Shenzhen area of Southern China, which is also serving as the world's factory for various high-end electronics and gadgets.

Due to the upcoming Chinese National Day on 1st October and the traditional Mid-Autumn Festival, also called the Moon Cake Festival - entire China is halting its production for at least four days as all factories, offices and governmental institutions are returning to their homes to celebrate these events, or decide to take this opportunity and go on a well deserved holiday with their families.

Our Sales Team will still be up running and taking orders during the holidays, but minor delays in delivery times especially of high-volume batches of USB flash drives are to be expected. Production will be back on full speed by 2nd week of October.

This 1st week of October, together with the Spring Festival, is one China's so called "Golden Holiday Weeks" and a time where people like to travel or go for a weeklong holiday.

During this time, general production in China halts, with offices and white-collar personnel even benefiting from an eight day holiday, while most factories are eager to start with production earlier.

Because we need to guarantee a steady production flow, our USB flash drive manufacturing site will halt for only four days, with production up running again as usual on Monday the 5th October.

During this four day period our Sales Team will be on stand-by to assist you with any pre-sales questions before we return to business as usual. For orders placed this week and just before this holiday week, slight delays can be expected as orders pile up during these days.

For any questions regarding the estimated dispatch date of your order please feel free to contact your account manager, who'll be happy to provide you with detailed information.

For high-volume USB flash drive wholesale orders we'd like to note that the NAND flash spot-market in Hong Kong is also halting during this period, and price updates for NAND flash memory can be expected again during the second week of October.

What about prices for NAND flash memory, do you have any predictions on NAND price developments after the holiday and for the fourth quarter?

thank you for your comment and your question about NAND flash price trends for the upcoming 4Q.

Currently prices are on a general upwards trend, and this is likely to continue throughout the rest of the year. Because of Apple's huge orders we witnessed several major price increases during the last weeks.

After the holidays, price are likely to start out from where the NAND flash spot-market closed. We predict that smaller but steady price increases will happen towards the end of the year, and recommend for buyers of wholesale volumes of NAND flash or USB flash drives to purchase as early as possible to safeguard against this upwards price trend.
